INTRODUCTION. Do not be deceived by this section of the site; most press coverage of Madonna from the 1980s to the present has been positive in nature.

Rarely have the lame- brained journalists and feminist college professors stopped their Madonna admiration long enough to critically evaluate Madonna, otherwise we'd be seeing more accurate - and hence, more negative - stories about Madonna.

Madonna has usually received praise in the media by those who mistakenly consider her some kind of "savvy business woman" or a feminist role model.

First: A guide to the icons:

Some of the stories have icons next to them to make your anti-Madonna research a bit easier; here is what the icons represent:
Burglar burglar: unoriginality, copyright infringement, and / or fakeness (e.g., cosmetic surgery) music note: music related; many times in 2004, it has to do with her Reinvention Tour
Gavel gavel: legal action or lawsuit. Usually signifies a lawsuit against her, but at times, she has sued others grandmother: commentary about how old she is and / or she is no longer culturally relveant, hip, or "with it"
pawprint: bitch. Examples of her diva like, bitchy behavior; using people, being rude to fans, etc letter x: sexually related; stories about what a whore she is
green triangle: religion; usually this will pertain to Kabbalah, which is her favorite religion du juor dollar sign: her greed; deals where she's making a lot of money; in some cases, this icon may actually signify her loss of income (e.g., low record sales)
